Starting out her career working for the National Trust, RHS trained her projects since have ranged from large country estates to smaller courtyard town gardens, modern inner-city landscapes to atmospheric historic walled gardens.

Our garden design process includes you, the client, at every stage so you can be confident that from consultation through to design and construction, we will make your garden dreams come true.
Consultation and Brief
The first step is a client meeting with yourself to view and discuss the project, talk through initial ideas and any requirements you may have. After seeing the garden/ project area, budgets can be discussed, estimated costings provided and then a design concept presented.
Site Survey / Appraisal
Following on from our initial meeting, a site survey is carried out by myself or a recommended surveyor for more complex, large scale sites to identify any services and existing features which need to be factored in to any future design.
Garden Design / Planting Plan
A CAD or hand drawn garden design is then presented to yourselves with accompanying plant lists and imagery so you can now visualise how the new garden will look.
Construction / Planting
We can recommend and work with trusted, professional hard landscapers to quote and carry out these aspects of the design whilst all things horticultural, I can carry out myself from ground preparation to planting. We also work with trusted local nurseries and horticultural companies to source the highest quality plants and materials at the most competitive prices.

Testimonials
‘Emily Smith was recommended to us by a neighbour and I am eternally grateful for that recommendation. Emily has been working for us for nearly a year now. She is incredibly knowledgeable, very talented, extremely hardworking and totally reliable and trustworthy. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her. There is nothing that she doesn’t know about plants and she has the ability to create stunning soft landscapes from nothing. She understands what works to create visual interest in the garden throughout the year and the natural beauty that results is a testament to Emily’s vision, creativity and hard work. She is the best garden designer I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.’
Mrs R E, Cambridge
‘Emily has been a delight to work with. I gave her the opportunity to landscape a prominent (but less than ideal) area to work with and not only did the finished article completely exceed my high expectations, but her no fuss, just do-it attitude has meant hassle free maintenance. Exceptionally pleased.’
The Gog Farm Shop, Cambridge
‘Imaginative design ideas and a wealth of plant knowledge from Emily has helped us create a dramatic new border in our garden which will mature to become a real talking point. Would highly recommend Emily to transform a garden and bring out its best.’
